The WVU Master of Science in Software Engineering (MSSE) online graduate program courses address new technologies, improving software engineering’s ability to architect and design secured advanced complex software systems.

As one of less than two dozen undergraduate programs offered in the United States, the robotics engineering degree is a 124-credit interdisciplinary course of study created from partnering efforts of the mechanical and aerospace engineering department and the Lane Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. To form a solid foundation, students will take courses equally distributed from both departments, followed by a group of core courses specifically on robotics and a robotics capstone design experience.

Brian Powell, teaching assistant professor in the Lane Department, has been named the College’s Outstanding Educator of the Year. Ronald Reaser, teaching instructor in the Lane Department was recognized as one of three Outstanding Educators in the College. Donald Adjeroh, associate chair for faculty development and research, and professor in the Lane Department has been named the College’s Researcher of the Year and Outstanding Researcher at the senior level.

A determination to position WVU at the forefront of computer sciences and electrical engineering has inspired two alumni: a tech pioneer Rouzbeh Yassini and software entrepreneur Michael Manley, to contribute $750,000 to produce long-term alliances with best-in-class academic leaders.

Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources will have access to cutting-edge biometrics resources thanks to a gift from IDEMIA National Security Solutions, a leading provider of biometric, identity and access solutions that has supported the security of U.S. government, intelligence and defense agencies for more than 60 years.

The end of the spring semester brought warmer temperatures and the joyful faces of graduating students and their families.
