WVU Statler College award winners announced
Gene Cilento, Glen H. Hiner Dean of the Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources at West Virginia University, announced the winners of the College's outstanding teacher, adviser and researcher awards for 2015-2016. The awards were handed out at the College's annual Honors Ceremony, which took place today (April 8).
Ordel Brown, teaching assistant professor from Fundamentals of Engineering, was selected as this year's outstanding adviser. Vladislav Kecojevic from the Department of Mining Engineering and Udaya Halabe from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering were also honored for their advising work
Xueyan Song, from the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, and Debangsu Bhattacharyya , from the Department of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering, were chosen as the College’s Researchers of the Year. Also recognized were V'yacheslav Akkerman , of the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, and Yaser Fallah, of the Lane Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering.
Jason Gross from the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering was named New Researcher of the Year.
