MEDIA ADVISORY: College to host Engineers Week events

Jackie Grimes Anderson, BS AE/ME ’08; DO ’17, Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, will deliver the keynote on Wednesday, February 21.

The Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources will host a series of events to celebrate National Engineers Week, Monday, February 19-Saturday, February 24. Engineers Week is led by DiscoverE, formerly the National Engineers Week Foundation. Its mission is to sustain and grow a dynamic engineering profession through outreach, education, celebration and volunteerism.

Tuesday, February 20: Donuts with the Dean, 8:30-10 a.m., Ground Floor, Engineering Sciences Building
Statler College Dean Gene Cilento will be available for interviews.

Wednesday, February 21: Engineering: Powering Your Future, 5 p.m., MRB 113

Thursday, February 22: Paper Airplane Competition, 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m., ESB Atrium

Saturday, February 24: Merit Badge University, 9:15 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Merit Badge University is an opportunity for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts to work on an array of merit badges, including ones not typically offered at summer camps, including cycling, dentistry, first aid and radio. For locations and more information, contact Dan McNeil at 304-692-5537 (cell).
