Serial entrepreneur to deliver Gochenour Lecture at WVU
Gina Dubbé, a 1983 graduate of West Virginia University, will deliver the annual Gochenour Lecture in the Department of Industrial and Management Systems Engineering on Thursday, April 26, at 3:30 p.m., in room 113 of the Mineral Resources Building on the Evansdale Campus.
The lecture, entitled “You Just Never Know,” is free and open to the public.
With more than 30 years of cross-functional expertise in sales, marketing, business development and engineering, Dubbé has competitively positioned companies, products and technologies in the marketplace. She is the owner of Greenhouse Wellness, one of Maryland’s first medical cannabis dispensaries, which provides holistic treatment options to people living in pain.
Dubbé was one of the founding members of Private Digital Networks, an information technology company that focuses on the meld of cloud computing with content delivery. PDN was acquired by Agile Systems in 2017. She was also the co-founder of TheraPearl, a doctor-designed, drug-free way to relieve pain and inflammation associated with a host of pain-producing conditions. Dubbé was named by Forbes Magazine in 2014 as one of the Women Who Built Outstanding Companies, and TheraPearl made the Inc. 500 list of the Fastest Growing Private Companies in the U.S. for two consecutive years. TheraPearl was acquired by Hygenic Corporation, the makers of BioFreeze in 2014.
In her former role as managing partner of Walker Ventures, a venture capital firm, Dubbé was responsible for the qualification and selection of investment portfolio companies in a variety of technology areas. She joined the board of directors of Walker Ventures’ portfolio companies to provide management insight on strategic corporate and technology direction, as well as assistance in fund raising strategies.
The Donald L. Gochenour Lecture Series was established to honor the late Dr. Gochenour, a distinguished professor of industrial engineering at WVU.
