Cavarretta named executive director of development
Pedro Mago, Glen H. Hiner Dean of the Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources at West Virginia University, has announced the appointment of Tammy Cavaretta to executive director of development effective October 25, 2021.

Cavaretta comes to the Statler College from Vanderbilt University’s School of Engineering and brings over 25 years of development experience at private, urban and public, state and rural universities.
Prior to working at Vanderbilt, she held positions at Washington University in St. Louis for university initiatives and at Southern Illinois University Carbondale for the College of Business.
“I was drawn to WVU and the Statler College for the opportunity to contribute to Dean Pedro Mago’s vision to continue to achieve world-class education, research and outreach,” Cavaretta said.
Cavaretta will lead the College’s development team alongside Associate Director of Development Travis Finney to engage alumni, friends, parents, corporations, and foundations in support of the College.
“The wealth of knowledge and experience that Tammy possesses will be invaluable
to our College,” said Mago. “I look forward to collaborating with her
and the development team to focus on connecting with our alumni
and the broader WVU family to help provide resources that will benefit our
faculty, students and staff.”
