September 2022 Statler Circuit: Department Digest and Awards

Wadsworth Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering 

Fei Dai, associate professor of civil and environmental engineering, received the Best Paper Award from the 2022 Transforming Construction with Reality Capture Technologies Conference, which took place on August 23-25, in Fredericton, Canada. Dai served as a co-author for the paper titled "An eye tracking based virtual tape measure in construction.” The research paper proposed using a virtual, hands-free tape measure with an eye tracker and stereo camera to increase measurement accuracy and reduce risk or injury for construction workers.
