WVU Statler College to host VEX Robotics Competition for first time

WHAT: The West Virginia University Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources will host the VEX Robotics Competition, challenging student teams to design, build, program and drive a robot with the goal of preparing them to become future innovators.
Winners have the potential to advance to the VEX Robotics World Championship in April.
WHO: More than 50 teams of middle and high school students from around the state and region
WHEN: February 18 - high school competition, February 19 - middle school competition, both run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
WHERE: Engineering Sciences Building Atrium, Evansdale campus
NOTES: Here is the schedule for the event WVU is hosting for the first time.
8 a.m. - Doors open, Entry inspections begin
9 a.m. - Qualification matches, Judging begins
Noon - Break
1 p.m. - Qualification matches resume
3 p.m. - Alliance selection
3:15 p.m. - Elimination tournament begins
4 p.m. - Closing ceremony and awards
