Student Competition Teams

The WVU Experimental Rocketry Team has won 1st place in the 30,000 ft Student Research and Development solid category at the 18th annual International Rocketry Engineering Competition! Over 2,000 students, faculty and mentors participated in this world class event in Texas from June 9 to 14. WVU team members and advisor Pat Browning represented the best and brightest from more than 150 colleges and universities located across the USA and around the world.

Industrial Extension

The partnership between  WVU Industrial Extension and Blenko Glass Company has been featured in the Heroes of American Manufacturing video series, an initiative from the National Institute of Standards and Technology to showcase the success stories of small and medium-sized manufacturers in the United States.

This national recognition is reserved for only a few organizations each year and shines a spotlight on Blenko’s enduring legacy of craftsmanship, innovation and resilience. The video also highlights the collaborative efforts to support continuous improvement and operational excellence in West Virginia’s manufacturing sector.

This honor also exemplifies the University’s land-grant mission at work — turning expertise into impact, fueling economic development and empowering manufacturers across the Mountain State.

WVU Industrial Extension is proud to partner with the state’s manufacturers and prouder still to see their stories recognized on a national stage.
