Two elected to WVU Foundation Board of Directors

Olaolu Adekunle and Robert Johnson have been elected to the WVU Foundation Board of Directors.

West Virginia University alumniwith successful careers in business and law have been elected to the WVU Foundation Board of Directors.

MORGANTOWN, W.Va.—
  • Olaolu “Ola” Adekunleof San Jose, California., is a three-time graduate of WVU with a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, a master’s in business administrationand a juris doctorate in law. He serves as a patent attorney for Google and previously worked as a senior patent counsel and portfolio manager for Hewlett Packard Enterprise. Adekunle has a long history of pro-bono service, currently working as a volunteer attorney for Street Law, Inc. and California Lawyers for the Arts’ Pro Bono Program.
  • Robert D. “Rob” Johnsonof Dallas, Texas, earned his bachelor’s degree in accountingfrom WVU in 1989. Upon graduation, he became a partner at Ernst Young where he currently works in the firm’s Dallas office. A native of Beckley, Johnson is a former chairman of Junior Achievement of Greater Cleveland. Johnson’s wife, Tammy, also earned her bachelor’s degree from WVU in elementary education.

Each will serve a three-year term.

In other business at the board’s recent annual meeting, Robert O. “Bob” Orders (’72) of St. Albans, was re-elected chairperson. Orders is president of Orders Construction Company, Inc, a highway, utility and construction company with operations in West Virginia and Virginia. Pamela Maphis Larrick (’72) of Vero Beach, Florida, was re-elected vice chair. Re-elected secretary was Marcia A. Broughton (’76, ’79) of Clarksburg.

The board also recognized the work of outgoing Statler College of Engineering and Mineral ResourcesDean Gene Cilento who is retiring as dean of the college and will no longer serve as the University’s dean representative on the Foundation’s Endowment Spend Committee. Chambers College of Business and EconomicsDean Javier Reyeswill take Cilento’s place on the committee.
