August 2022 Statler Circuit: Department Digest and Awards

Mining Engineering 

Twenty-two students majoring in mining engineering were recently awarded The Gimme Foundation Scholarship, WAAIME PA-West Section and AIME Scholarships and WAAIME scholarships for the 2022-23 academic year.  

Recipients of The Gimme Foundation Scholarship include Connor Baker, Jared Broyles, Ashton Crawford, Gabi Kosakowski, and Rylan Nemesh. The recipients were selected based on academic merit and an essay submission detailing their interest in mining engineering careers. Awards ranged from $1,500-$5,000 per student.  

Recipients of WAAIME PA-West Section and AIME Scholarships include MiKy Alves, Thommy Bagunye, Zoey Carper, Gabi Kosakowski and Victor Valencia. Awards were $1,200 per student. 

Recipients of WAAIME scholarships include Alejandro Agudelo, Connor Baker, Jared Broyles, Zeynep Cicek, Francisco Gil Hurtado, Kyle Jenness, Rosbel Jimenez, Jared Morse, Rylan Nemesh, Maria Fernanda Quintero, Joshua Riffle, Megan Sibley, Mustafa Suner, Juan David Valencia Quiceno, Jose Raule Zela Concha and Yinan Zhang. Award amounts varied based on available funding and financial need.
