Representatives from West Virginia University’s Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources captured best paper honors at the premier international forum for data science.
With one year left to go in the four-year EcoCAR 3 competition, the team from West Virginia University finds itself in some pretty good company. After a two-week stint that featured stops in Michigan and Washington, D.C., the team from WVU placed fourth overall, joining Ohio State University, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and Georgia Tech at the top.

Hiner Distinguished Lecture Series in the Benjamin M. Statler College, will be held in room G102 of the Engineering Sciences Building.
MorphoTrak, a key provider of biometric services to law enforcement and other agencies, will donate access to MorphoCloud, a cloud-based collection of services, to West Virginia University to support the university’s highly-regarded research and education programs in biometrics and forensics.
Engineering is a time-consuming discipline that involves lab work and involvement in student projects. Despite the time commitment, student organizations housed in the Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources at West Virginia University have already logged more than 4,200 service hours for the 2016-2017 school year.
