The campaign for
West Virginia University
Student Government Association ended Wednesday evening (March 9) as the
SGA Judicial Court certified Chloe Hernandez and Pareera Uqaily as president and
vice president, respectively, for the 2022-23 academic year. The pair represents
the first female-minority ticket to win an SGA presidential election.

Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources invited Professor Anthony Guiseppi-Elie, founding dean of Anderson University College of Engineering, to speak on interfacing biology and engineering, his personal story as a Black engineer and entrepreneur, and how he is making a difference in science and education.

The West Virginia University Office of Undergraduate Research is proud to announce that one of the university's current Beckman Scholars, Jackie Arnold, placed third in a judged poster competition at the recent American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) annual meeting held in Boston, Massachusetts, from November 7-November 11.
Sheree Gibson, a 1979 graduate of West Virginia University, will deliver the annual Gochenour Lecture in the Department of Industrial and Management Systems Engineering on Thursday, October 28, at 2 p.m. in room 113 of the Mineral Resources Building on the Evansdale Campus.
Pedro Mago, Glen H. Hiner Dean of the Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources at West Virginia University, and the Statler College Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee, announced the recipients of the College’s inaugural Excellence in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Award. The awards were presented to the recipients in conjunction with WVU’s annual Diversity Week celebration.

on how students can overcome barriers and thrive in a complex and diverse environment.
