MEDIA ADVISORY: College to host Engineers Week events

The Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources will host a series of events to celebrate National Engineers Week, Monday, February 19-Saturday, February 24. Engineers Week is led by DiscoverE, formerly the National Engineers Week Foundation. Its mission is to sustain and grow a dynamic engineering profession through outreach, education, celebration and volunteerism.

WVU engineering student discovers hidden talent behind the camera

At West Virginia University sports are serious business and making sure that fans don’t miss a minute of the action is a top priority for WVU Athletics. The department relies on a team of dedicated student workers to capture the live action that appears on the video boards during home games. While most of these students come from the Reed College of Media, one particularly talented cameraman happens to be from the Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources .

WVU engineering students earn scholarships from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals

Two students from the Department of Industrial and Management Systems Engineering at West Virginia University have been awarded scholarships from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals. The BCSP is recognized as the leader in high-quality credentialing for safety, health and environmental practitioners in order to enhance the safety of people, property, and the environment.
