WVU BOG approves new program offerings in artificial intelligence, smart systems

The West Virginia University Board of Governors has approved a new online MS degree in Artificial Intelligence, launching at the Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources. Housed in the Lane Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering (LCSEE), the program offers students a robust curriculum in AI, machine learning, computer science and data science topics.

Nimbarte named 2025 fellow by Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineering

The Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineering has recognized Ashish NimbarteIndustrial and Management Systems department chair, as a 2025 fellow for his contributions to education, research and innovation.  The industry’s primary professional society, the IISE Council of Fellows represents many prominent members of the industrial engineering profession. IISE was established in 1948 to advance and unite industrial engineers around the world.
