It was a sign of things to come in October 2015, when a
West Virginia University
team made up of supply chain and industrial engineering students went to the University
of Pittsburgh and won the Race to the Case Supply Chain Management Competition.
This past May, hundreds of engineering students from West Virginia University walked across the stage in the WVU Coliseum to receive their diplomas. Included in that group were the first graduates of the Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources online program in safety management.
As the fall semester gets underway at
West Virginia University, students from the
Statler College are reflecting on the opportunities that took them around the
globe this summer. Through internships, fellowships and work experiences, these
students gained a wealth of knowledge that will guide them into their future careers.
While many students traveled far and wide to participate in internships, three students in the Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources at West Virginia University found the best opportunities right on campus.
Students at West Virginia University will have the opportunity to experience a full additive manufacturing experience, thanks to a gift from GE Additive.
George Bennett was one of six individuals selected for induction into Order of Vandalia for 2018. He joins a distinguished list of recipients including Sen. Jay Rockefeller, Sen. Robert C. Byrd, Hazel Ruby McQuain, Sen. Jennings Randolph, John Chambers, James "Buck" Harless and Jack Fleming.
Gina Dubbé, a 1983 graduate of West Virginia University, will deliver the annual Gochenour Lecture in the Department of Industrial and Management Systems Engineering on Thursday, April 26, at 3:30 p.m., in room 113 of the Mineral Resources Building on the Evansdale Campus.
