For the third time in four years, teams from West Virginia University finished at or near the top in the Steel Bridge and Concrete Canoe competitions at the American Society of Civil Engineers’ Virginias Conference and the American Institute of Steel Construction Competition held recently at George Mason University, in Fairfax, Virginia.

A pair of researchers from West Virginia University have won the Delmonte Award for Excellence for the development of their patented NextGen Multifunctional Composite System, presented by the Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineers North America.

There will be several Big 12 teams competing at West Virginia University March 28-30. And even though the teams will spend a substantial amount of time at Milan Puskar Stadium, this is an academic competition — not an athletic one.

Andrew Rhodes came up with the idea when he began drinking and home brewing kombucha in the summer of 2016.

Joseph Sullivan, a sophomore computer science major at West Virginia University, has been awarded a summer internship with theGerman Academic Exchange Service – or DAAD – Research Internships in Science andEngineering program. Sullivan is the first WVU student to be awarded this opportunity.

Two industrial engineering students at West Virginia University have come up with a business idea they believe could benefit students interested in STEM in a big way.

An enthusiastic and personable mechanical engineering senior who enjoys solving problems has created an idea with a sophomore industrial engineering major.

Nick Summerlin, a West Virginia University engineering student, has won the 2018 ServiceScape Scholarship with his creative essay on the power of language, even at its most simplistic.

Alexandra Davis, a graduate engineering student at West Virginia University, was selected as one of the Industrial Assessment Center’s Student Research Award recipients for 2019. The $25,000 award, presented by the U.S. Department of Energy, is intended for WVU’s Industrial Assessment Center, where Davis serves as student lead.
